LPN Charge Nurse Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This position requires a strong understanding of current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify the identity of residents before administering medication/treatment.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determining staffing requirements, and making recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Greet newly admitted residents and escort them to their rooms as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility.
  • Develop, plan, conduct, and schedule in-service training classes to provide instructions on "how to do the job" and ensure a well-educated nursing service department.
