Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant II to join our team at Yavapai County Government. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, document, and prepare patient and associated health information for meetings with healthcare providers.
  • Triage patient inquiries for medical issues and questions for healthcare providers.
  • Complete and submit appropriate forms for prior authorization of medications prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Convey clinical information to patients on behalf of healthcare providers after receiving specific instructions.
  • Perform basic in-house laboratory tests, including finger stick glucose, hemoglobin A1C, dipstick urinalysis, rapid test for strep infections, and venipunctures.
  • Assure quality assurance in the CLIA-waived clinic laboratory.
  • Stock, supply, and sanitize rooms after visits.
  • Assist with monthly inventory ordering and organization of supplies.
  • Administer medication, immunizations, and treatment to patients as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Assist with training back-office staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a medical assistant, including a minimum of one (1) year working in three (3) different disciplines.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an approved Medical Assistant training program.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support for the Health Care Professionals within three (3) months of hire.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Current fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
