Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the activities of hourly personnel in the Operations Department
  • Monitor plant operation and direct corrective actions when plant upsets or nonconforming product occur
  • Responsible for compliance with safety, environmental quality, and HR policies that relate to plant operations, product quality, and managing direct reports
  • Drive continuous improvement in operating procedures and equipment operation to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Maintain certain records of plant equipment, operating parameters, and operations
  • Communicate daily with maintenance, inspection, and production support groups to prioritize activities and guidance to meeting production targets
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required; college diploma preferred
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing industry
  • Minimum three years experience as Lead Operator or minimum one year experience as Shift Supervisor
  • Self-motivated and takes the initiative in accomplishing goals and objectives with minimal supervision
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to absorb, organize and recall detailed information
  • Computer skills are essential
