We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant II to join our team in the Emergency Room Department at UNC Hospitals. As a Nursing Assistant II, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting, working under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including data entry and PI audits.
- Provide clinical support assistance, including cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, and troubleshooting common software and hardware problems.
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
- Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight.
- Perform specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and/or postural drainage.
- Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Six (6) months related nursing assistant experience.
This position qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which includes a $5,000 payment over a three-year commitment. Additionally, this position offers an extensive benefit package, including PTO hours, accrued based on worked hours.
Work EnvironmentThis is a 36-hour per week position, with variable shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. The UNC Hospitals Emergency Department is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, serving as North Carolina's primary referral hospital and community hospital for Chapel Hill/Orange County.
