Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Analyst to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of various HR processes in support of our recruitment division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage requisitions, post jobs to internal and external websites, screen applicants, interview, and onboard new employees.
  • Create and screen requisitions for executive leadership and council-appointed positions.
  • Assist the Recruitment Manager in developing recruitment strategies, networking, and creating job analysis techniques and procedures.
  • Research new trends in the recruitment industry and identify new recruitment resources, techniques, and tools.
  • Provide reports and analyze department vacancies, turnover trends, and hiring analytics.
  • Work with HR liaisons at each department to strategize on vacancy reductions and improve hiring processes.
  • Responsible for Vacancy Review Committee (VRC) requests, including logging and tracking requests, and communicating VRC decisions to departments.
  • Train new HR Analysts in the recruitment division and assist in training new hiring managers on recruitment processes and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the recruitment division.
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures, respond to requests from employees, management, outside agencies, and the general public.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records and respond to open records requests, including internal and external auditor requests.
  • May be responsible for approving and verifying transactions in the HRIS system of record, with the ability to troubleshoot and correct errors.
  • Act as a proxy to approve and open requisitions in the absence of the HR Analyst or when requested by the Recruitment Manager.
  • Oversee the City's internship programs and area workforce program opportunities.
  • Facilitate recruitment activities across various social media platforms.
  • Partner with local colleges and universities on recruitment initiatives.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating City participation at area job fairs or hiring events.
  • Represent the City at job fairs and special events, both virtually and in-person.
  • Will assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered.
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of City, State, and Federal policies and regulations relating to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of English usage, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of research methods.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and, depending on the individual job requirements, clerical techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical principles, methods, and computations.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and utilizing rudimentary software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
  • Ability to compile, organize, and maintain accurate and complete records and files.

Basis of Rating
  • Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
