Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiographic imaging, biopsy, and vascular stenting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and intermediate interventional radiologic procedures, including angiographic imaging, biopsy, and vascular stenting.
  • Act as a scrub assistant on basic interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring that images are of diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment to maintain consistent image quality.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy, and post-process images as directed, accurately identifying and labeling images.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies, and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
