Activity Programs Coordinator In-Training Opportunity

Belmont Village Senior Living is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Activity Programs Coordinator In-Training. This comprehensive training program is designed to prepare qualified candidates for leadership as an Activity Programs Coordinator.

Program Overview

The Activity Programs Coordinator In-Training program immerses candidates in all aspects of the role, including promoting resident socialization, growth, learning, and development by planning and implementing activities, supervising resident transportation programs, and leading community holiday programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging activities for residents in various categories, including physical/exercise, entertainment, social, religious, recreational/creative, volunteering, intellectual, and special requests.
  • Assist in developing and creating printed and digital promotions of planned activities and events.
  • Coordinate and help implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays.
  • Research and develop educational opportunities for residents.
  • Conduct, lead, and chaperone activities as needed.
  • Involves residents in planning and implementing programs and activities, reminding and encouraging residents to participate.
  • Develop and manage an active group of volunteers to support activity programming.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Telephone and PC skills, including Publisher, Canva, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability in creativity, communication, organization, and ability to establish long-term relationships.
  • Interest in working with the older population and understanding of cultural diversity and needs of the aging population.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support activity programming.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • More than one year of increased responsibility in a service-related capacity.
  • Prior experience in activity program development or hosting, preferably with an adult or senior population.
  • Prior experience in education, occupational therapy, social work, theater, and/or event planning.
  • Computer troubleshooting skills and familiarity with entertainment-type PC software, maintaining digital event monitors, office applications, internet, desktop publishing, and video conferencing.
