Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CDL Driver 1 to join our team at Recology. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicles, ensuring the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and maintaining good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operations: Perform daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, ensuring all safety measures are consistently and efficiently applied.
  • Customer Service: Operate vehicles in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining good customer relations and positively influencing the community's perception of the Company.
  • Materials Handling: Load all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and report any violations to supervisor, ensuring hazardous materials are not accepted and materials being transported comply with legal load limits.
  • Accident Reporting: Report all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred, one year of commercial driving experience (two years preferred), current commercial driver's license, and a current valid medical card.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation, basic computer programs, and ability to perform continuous physical exertions.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays, ability to work in all weather extremes, ability to promote the WASTE ZERO philosophy, and ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
