About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NEPA Environmental Manager to join our team at Tetra Tech. As a key member of our environmental planning team, you will play a critical role in leading and executing environmental planning projects, ensuring compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations, and providing valuable advice on environmental impact matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the regulatory and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with NEPA requirements.
  • Support project managers by providing expertise in NEPA analyses, particularly in collaboration with federal and state transportation agencies.
  • Prepare and process permit applications at county, state, and federal levels, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Conduct environmental studies and resource analyses to inform project development and permitting strategies.
  • Consult with relevant governmental bodies and agencies to facilitate regulatory approvals and maintain open lines of communication throughout the permitting process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with NEPA assessments and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance/permitting in the U.S.
  • Precertified in TxDOT work category 2.14.1 Environmental Document Preparation, or have the experience needed to become precertified in an expeditious timeframe.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with team members located across other offices.
  • Strong task management skills in successfully scoping and managing project teams and deliverables.
