As a Fire Inspector with the City of Bend Oregon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our community by enforcing ordinances, codes, and laws related to fire prevention and safety measures in commercial, industrial, and other facilities accessed by the general public.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Enforce fire safety codes and regulations to prevent fires and protect life and property
- Conduct regular inspections of commercial and industrial facilities to identify potential fire hazards
- Investigate fires and accidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to develop and implement fire safety programs
- Provide education and training to the public on fire safety and prevention
**Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in fire science or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations
