Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Elastic Engineer to join our team in support of our client. This is a full-time position that requires an active Top Secret clearance and a DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher certification.

Key Responsibilities:

The Elastic Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with team members to design, document, build, secure, and maintain ELK Stack solutions deployed in cloud environments.
  • Working closely with architects and engineers to understand customer needs and develop compliant ELK Stack solutions.
  • Following established processes to transition solutions from development to production.
  • Documenting installation and configuration procedures for production deployment.
  • Ensuring security through knowledge of TLS, certificates, SSO/PIV authentication, and encryption technologies.
  • Utilizing analytical methods to process and analyze large datasets for specific objectives.
  • Managing data lifecycle and testing data flows to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participating in agile meetings to track project progress and ensure alignment with client requirements.
  • Providing expert guidance and best practice recommendations to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; equivalent certifications may substitute for degree.
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
  • CSSP-Analyst certification must be obtained within 180 days of employment.
  • Experience in supporting or leading Cyber Network Defense (CND) teams.
  • Familiarity with CND operations including Protect, Defend, Respond, and Sustain.
  • Experience working with government leaders at various levels.

Preferred Skills:

  • IAM Level III Certification (e.g., GSLC, CISM, CISSP).
  • Additional IA certifications such as SSCP, CSIH, GCIA, GCIH, or CEH.
  • UNIX administration experience.
  • Proficiency in command line scripting (e.g., PERL, Python, shell scripting) for automation.
  • Knowledge of hacker tactics and malware analysis tools.
  • Understanding of software exploits and ability to analyze obfuscated code.
  • Familiarity with Windows APIs.
