Overview:
We are seeking several skilled Mechanical Engineers to take on Principal Mechanical Engineer positions for our esteemed client, a global frontrunner in the innovation of surgical and operating room apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead and mentor the engineering team, focusing on the design of operating room apparatus, including patient support systems, actuators, and various components. The role involves:
- Guiding cross-functional teams in the design, development, and testing of products that meet stringent specifications.
- Engaging in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability.
- Evaluating feedback from service and marketing teams regarding product performance.
- Maintaining strong collaborative relationships with manufacturing and marketing to enhance product offerings.
- Contributing to ongoing product enhancements and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Participating in vendor selection, sustaining engineering, quality control inspections, and material review board activities.
- Providing technical guidance to fellow engineers and designers, leading projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solidworks.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles to define and resolve challenges, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience in designing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Familiarity with electromechanical design, including motor selection, couplings, bearings, gearbox design, drivetrain integration, sensor integration, and electronics packaging.
- Knowledge of structural design through hand calculations and software tools.
- Experience with mechanism design, including cams, linkages, actuators, and mechanical attachments.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 to $190,000, along with bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
