Job Description

South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the hotel's guest and in-house areas.

The ideal candidate will have technical and mechanical experience, with a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary to maintain the hotel's guest and in-house areas.
  • Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures, and troubleshoot and repair electrical and circuit issues.
  • Repair and maintain hotel air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
  • Perform furniture repair and plumbing repairs, including clogged drains, replacing washers, and changing handles.
  • Trace and repair all types of water lines, and troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes, and test, clean, and basic repairs for swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas, and respond to and complete guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work well under pressure situations with time demands and work overtime when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Technical and mechanical experience
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated
  • HVAC training preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry supplies, equipment or tools weighing up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance

Schedule:

  • Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings - 28 hours per week
