Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the hotel's guest and in-house areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including replacing light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and circuit issues from distributions to service points.
  • Replace and program televisions as needed.
  • Make repairs to the hotel air conditioning system, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
  • Perform furniture repair and maintenance.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains, replacing washers, and changing handles.
  • Trace and repair all types of water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
  • Test, clean, and basic repairs for swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas.
  • Respond to and complete guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work well under pressure situations with time demands and work overtime when needed.

Requirements:

  • Technical and mechanical experience.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated.
  • HVAC training preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry supplies, equipment, or tools weighing up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Overall reliable.
