Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join the Datacenter Engineering Group within Enterprise IT.

The initial focus will be on private cloud service delivery and infrastructure solutions across both public (AWS, GCP, Azure) and private cloud environments.

The role involves developing data pipeline architectures, including extracting, aggregating, and analyzing performance data alongside business data to forecast capacity and mitigate risks.

This role requires a blend of data pipeline engineering, data analysis, and infrastructure engineering skills to create simulations and predictive models.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data pipeline architectures for extracting, aggregating, and analyzing performance data.
  • Automate infrastructure delivery using configuration orchestration and management tools like Ansible/AAP and Terraform.
  • Apply coding practices using source code control tools like GitLab and develop in preferred scripting languages (e.g., Python, UNIX Shell Scripting).
  • Manage Linux and Windows systems, ensuring strong engineering principles across platforms.
  • Ensure application and data resiliency across platforms.
  • Utilize data observability tools such as Datadog to monitor and optimize systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and drivers.
  • Produce architecture and recommendations from data analysis problems, creating pipelines to deliver results.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders via reports and presentations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and models.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong background in data analysis, forecasting, and data pipeline infrastructure.
  • Experience with automation of infrastructure delivery using Ansible/AAP, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Expertise in source code control (GitLab) and development using Python or UNIX Shell Scripting.
  • Strong experience in Linux and Windows systems engineering principles.
  • Understanding of application and data resiliency across multiple platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with data observability tools like Datadog.
  • Experience in data pipeline engineering and architecture for forecasting capacity needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to take a data analysis problem, produce recommendations and architecture, and create pipelines to deliver results.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or automation tools are preferred but not mandatory.
