Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician is a vital member of our clinical team at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to provide support and assistance to our clinical staff in the management of medication ordering and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers to ensure seamless medication ordering and delivery.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential problems to maintain a high level of patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to fulfill prescription orders from start to finish, demonstrating a thorough understanding of each workstation.
  • Understand and adhere to applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Expand on clinical and managerial responsibilities as allowable by state law, with certification and training.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, outside providers, referral sources, and others.
  • Commit to continued professional growth and development.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Read, understand, and comply with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, etc.
  • Adhere to EBNHC standards of Employee Conduct and all related policies and procedures by:
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service;
  • Showing respect to other employees;
  • Adhering to standards of cultural competency and non-discrimination;
  • Adhering to standards of privacy;
  • Adhering to attendance and other policies and utilizing appropriate notification and other procedures.
  • Uphold safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety, and other employee safety measures.
  • Uphold procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

Requirements:
  • Education: High School graduate or GED required. Current valid and unrestricted pharmacy technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
  • Experience: Must have completed Pharmacy Technician Trainee requirements.
  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills in English as well as basic reading and math skills. Computer proficiency with an electronic medical record. Commitment to exceptional customer service.
