McColm & Company is seeking a highly skilled Tactical Skills Trainer/Instructor to support our clients in the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, and USAID. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following tactical areas:

  • Situational awareness, risk management, and threat prevention
  • Hostile environment first aid and austere emergency medical services
  • Defensive and offensive driving skills
  • Basic firearms/weapons skills
  • Essential self-defense
  • Explosives/hazardous materials
  • Resiliency and stress management

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expertise as a trainer/instructor in one of the areas listed above combined with proven training delivery
  • Leading instructional design and delivery of curriculum
  • Providing advice on complex training issues and problems that require a detailed knowledge of the subject matter
  • Developing assessment and evaluation criteria for achieving program results
  • Developing reports, studies, and related documentation for training applications
  • Delivering presentations and briefings to support program development

Requirements include:

  • Military or police related training in law enforcement, combat operations, force protection, and/or close protection
  • Additional certified skills in armament, signals and field medic/paramedic care will be highly valued
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training in their tactical area of expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in leading security, force protection, civilian evacuation missions either as a member of the national armed forces or on behalf of an internationally recognized private sector corporation or of a world-class international organization
  • Experience in crisis/conflict-affected countries
  • Dynamic, efficient communicator, effective team player, results-driven, customer service oriented, analytical skills, and ability to work cross-functionally and under pressure
  • Competence in the use of standard software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively in English, with a working knowledge of other languages preferred
