About the Role:
This position is responsible for performing structural analysis and design for materials provided in accordance with the appropriate design criteria, steel specifications, and customer agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AISC and AISI material specifications, ASCE 7, IBC, and MBMA Building Systems Manual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design primary and secondary structural framing and connections for building orders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and proficiently use various building codes.
- Develop efficient and timely documentation of engineering designs and builder/customer interface information.
- Maintain effective communication with engineering and drafting department personnel.
- Meet productivity and quality standards, ensuring all jobs are completed on schedule.
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, engineers, and detailers to utilize Chief's procedures and products.
- Provide certification with seal and signature on construction documents in states with professional engineering licensure.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Engineering, or Master's degree in related fields.
- ABET-accredited degree and eligibility for future professional engineer licensure.
- Professional engineering licensure in at least one state.
- 3-5 years of metal building design experience.
