Equipment Repair Technician

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with a focus on heavy construction equipment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems on heavy equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions in equipment to determine necessary repairs.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Safely weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders, following manufacturer recommendations.
- Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance for industrial machines, keeping accurate service records.
- Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
- Assemble gear systems and align frames or gears as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance programs on heavy equipment and machinery.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed on each vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station.
- Manage parts and tool inventory.
- Communicate effectively with employer regarding vehicle status and repair recommendations.
- Perform other mechanical duties as assigned and required.
Requirements:
- Experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy construction equipment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
