KIA Master Service Technician/Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced and skilled KIA Master Technician/Mechanic to join our team at Deacon Jones KIA of Kinston. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical knowledge, mechanical skills, and excellent communication abilities. They will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues on various vehicle makes and models, including KIA vehicles. In addition to their technical expertise, they must also demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary for this position is $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a generous sign-on bonus for the right candidate (up to $5,000). Additionally, we provide paid vacation and sick time, an employee purchase program, and opportunities for advancement within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Determine the root cause of problems and perform repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend preventive maintenance services.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and service advisors to resolve complex problems and improve overall efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and customer interactions using ADP/CDK.
  • Test and adjust systems to meet manufacturer specifications, using specialized equipment such as infrared engine analyzers and compression gauges.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician, preferably with KIA certification.
  • ASE Certification in all 8 automotive specialty areas.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in diagnostic software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet business objectives.
