Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily functions of the customs brokerage division and support your team
  • Drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met or surpassed
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements
  • Design and execute effective customs clearance procedures to meet shipment timelines and expectations
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, offering expert guidance on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation
  • Stay informed on changes in customs regulations and industry developments, updating internal policies as necessary
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with standards
  • Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, finance, and legal, to optimize cross-border trade processes and resolve issues
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, carriers, and other key stakeholders
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their expertise in customs brokerage operations
Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in customs brokerage, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Customs Broker license is preferred but not mandatory
  • Thorough understanding of customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade compliance
  • Strong leadership skills focused on team development, mentorship, and performance enhancement
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, with a capacity to engage effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in customs brokerage software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in international trade, logistics, business administration, or equivalent experience is preferred
