Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil or Structural Engineer to lead and manage marine engineering projects with 6 to 10 years of waterfront, port, and maritime infrastructure project experience. The ideal candidate will have structural analysis, modeling, and seismic experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of contract documents for various project delivery methods, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Perform structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete, and composite materials.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and calculations as needed.
  • Help resolve design problems, including performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations.
  • Coordinate with coastal, civil, transportation, mechanical, electrical, construction, inspection, permitting, and environmental disciplines.
  • Lead the implementation of quality control and quality assurance on projects.
  • Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
  • Prepare technical study reports and memorandums.
  • Assist in public engagement meetings and preparation of presentation materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus. A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • 6 to 10 years of structural design experience with a focus on piers, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, breakwater, and/or shore protection structures.
  • Background in structural modeling with nonlinear elements and/or soil-structure interaction is preferred.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $122,400 to $149,600 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualifications in the job description. This position is based in California, and the salary range is applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California markets.

Working Conditions

The majority of work is office-based, with some site visits required, which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
