Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Civil Engineer to join our Wastewater Design Section. The successful candidate will manage high-profile projects related to the implementation of key initiatives in the Wastewater Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multi-million-dollar capital projects for wastewater treatment plant and interceptor system upgrades.
  • Lead cross-departmental efforts to develop effective engineering solutions to manage key initiatives, including EBMUD's resource recovery and renewable energy program.
  • Scope and develop capital improvement projects based on knowledge of limitations and capacities of available treatment technologies.
  • Develop and manage the Wastewater Department's capital budget.
  • Prepare engineering design packages for capital improvement projects, including detailed drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline design teams and direct the work of staff, including Assistant Engineers.
  • Manage consultants retained by EBMUD for the preparation of engineering design packages.
  • Review and check engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for completeness, accuracy, and soundness of applied engineering principles and EBMUD standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an ABET accredited civil or environmental engineering curriculum or a California Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
  • Two years of civil, geotechnical, or sanitary engineering experience comparable to or higher than EBMUD's Assistant Engineer class.
  • California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $148,180.00 to $180,624.00 annually, depending on experience. Our excellent benefits package includes 12 days paid vacation, 16 holidays, 13 days paid sick leave, and more.
