Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse I to join our team at UNC Health. As a Clinical Nurse I, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide competent clinical nursing care to patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others, and attend education programs based on identified learning needs.
  • Evaluate patient care and seek guidance as needed in revision of plan of care, and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
  • Implement care according to patient/family needs, and utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care.
  • Develop goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations, and achieve goals and objectives within identified time frame or renegotiate with supervisor.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Work Environment

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. The 4th floor Surgical unit is a fast-paced unit that provides care to postoperative patients with Total Joint and other Orthopedic, Urology, Gynecology, General, and Vascular surgical surgeries.
