The primary objective of the School Speech Language Pathologist role is to conduct diagnostic assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for pediatric students within a school environment. The aim is to assist students with speech and language challenges in achieving their highest potential within an educational framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families regarding students' speech and language needs
  • Perform initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations to assess the necessity for services
  • Engage in the IEP process to establish performance levels, goals, objectives, and treatment recommendations for eligible students
  • Deliver speech therapy sessions utilizing current best practices aligned with IEP requirements
  • Maintain all necessary documentation in accordance with district policies and ASHA's ethical standards, including daily notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Current licensure to practice in the state or eligibility for licensure through completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
