Job Title: Dispatch Supervisor Delivery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispatch Supervisor Delivery to join our team at National Guard Employment Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of workers engaged in the distribution of products, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient shift personnel are available for workload demands.
  • Assign duties and examine work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Review dispatch operations to identify technical and operational training needs and recommend operational improvements.
  • Test, inspect, and operate radio, telephone, computer, and other equipment as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain reports, statistics, and records.
  • Perform the work of subordinate dispatch personnel as needed.
  • Maintain list of available vehicles and assign vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, and preference of user.
  • Issue keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
  • Record time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return for all deliveries.
  • Investigate overdue vehicles.
  • Direct activities of drivers by two-way radio.
  • Confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
  • Maintain record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
  • Establish service or delivery routes.
  • Assign helpers to drivers.
  • Review work orders from departments or complaints from customers, and record type and scope of service to be performed.
  • Determine and schedule orders according to urgency.
  • Contact supply storekeeper to verify availability of parts and equipment to ensure scheduled work performance.
  • Receive check in calls from delivery workers by radio, telephone, or in person.
  • Inform workers of type and location of work to be performed and dispatch workers to job.
  • Keep records of repairs, installation and hours required on each job.
  • Assign orders to lift operators to be pulled from inventory.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
