Job Summary

The Athletic Trainer at Jamestown Regional Medical Center is responsible for evaluating, treating, and preventing athletes' injuries. This full-time, benefited position requires variable days and hours per pay period, with an office at Jamestown High School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat athletes' injuries, providing coverage to Jamestown Public School practices, games, and events.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs, utilizing sound knowledge of athletic injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning.
  • Provide concussion and head injury management, utilizing appropriate clinical techniques to effectively assess and treat athletic injuries.
  • Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries, maintaining accurate medical records and communicating with physicians, school administrators, and coaches.
  • Supervise and instruct athletic training student aides, serving as a clinical instructor and supervisor for athletic training students from local colleges.

Qualifications

The Athletic Trainer must be in good standing, holding a state license to practice as an athletic trainer, and be certified by the Board of Certification, Inc. BLS and AED certification are required, with CPR certification every other year. One to two years of experience in the fitness industry or athletic training is preferred.
