Position Overview:

The Inspection Technician Apprentice will engage in Level 1 Inspection responsibilities, which primarily involve supporting the Lead Inspector in the evaluation and testing of various fire protection and life safety apparatus. This role is ideal for individuals who are mechanically adept, self-driven, customer-focused, and eager to learn.

Compensation: The starting pay for this position is $19 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of life safety product lines.
  • Manage low voltage wiring and associated devices necessary for the operation of low voltage systems.
  • Utilize hand tools effectively; training will be provided for specific tools.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and existing policies.
  • Communicate effectively and follow instructions from Supervisors and/or Lead Inspectors.
  • Be prepared to travel as required.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in the fire protection sector.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Completion of one NICET level examination within the first 90 days of employment is required.
  • Familiarity with technology such as iPads and smartphones is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and have reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to undergo a post-offer drug screening, background check, and reference verification.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Regular activities include bending, reaching, climbing, and walking.
