About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Estimator to join our team at Pye Barker Fire and Safety LLC. As a key member of our commercial business development team, you will be responsible for estimating and bidding on projects involving fire sprinkler systems and life safety devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base.
  • Collaborate with local and regional management to achieve monthly sales targets and business objectives.
  • Conduct commercial business onsite quote surveys to identify new business opportunities.
  • Perform customer onsite visits to upgrade maintenance and expand buildings and tenant spaces.
  • Create detailed project descriptions to ensure accurate and timely job execution.
  • Work closely with contractors and customers to accurately quote job costs and follow up on installation progress.
  • Ensure all job contracts adhere to insurance, compliance, and company standards before site work begins.
  • Review contracts with Prevailing Wages or AIA Billing with Operations Manager.
  • Ensure timely presentation of parts and materials lists to the purchasing department to avoid cost overruns and job start delays.
  • Review job progress with Install Manager and address any issues promptly.
  • Perform ongoing jobsite visits to gather information on job progress and take photos as needed.
  • Accurately review in-progress job costs to avoid cost overruns.
  • Complete job reports in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for completing job close-out reports.
  • Manage the process from beginning to end, including timelines, deadlines, and estimating packages.
  • Work closely with install crews.
  • Maintain required CEU's and Certifications, including NICET and State License.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of industry experience is required.
  • NICET certification Level I is required, with Level II to be pursued and acquired within the first year of employment and Level III the following year.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • A clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.
  • Flexibility with scheduling requirements, including evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
