Job Summary

To provide strategic support on public and private mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, and identify, evaluate, and execute on potential deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Coverage and Capital Markets groups, as well as cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and other stakeholders, to originate and execute successful M&A transactions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including modelling and valuation, to assess potential M&A opportunities, risks and mitigation action, alongside their impact on clients' financial positions and alignment with the clients' strategic objectives.
  • Structuring the deal and negotiating terms, collaborating with legal and financial colleagues to ensure that the deal is fair from a financial point of view.
  • Coordination of client's due diligence processes, including tax, legal, financial, and operational assessments of potential target companies.
  • Management of various aspects of M&A transactions, ensuring they progress efficiently and meet client expectations.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist at Barclays Capital Inc., you will be responsible for performing a broad range of analyses, building financial models, and information memorandums as required. You will also draft assessments and deliver pitches, as well as support the business through Mergers and Acquisitions due diligence, transaction execution, and follow all risk-and control related policies and practices. Additionally, you will analyze complex financial statements, build complex financial models, and perform complex financial analysis. You will oversee, guide, and coach the activities of financial analysts concerning the engagement of prospective business/company owners and executives prior to qualifying these potential mergers and acquisitions as viable prospects for the business. You will also supervise mergers and acquisitions from the initial contact all the way to finalization of the transaction. This position requires domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time. May telecommute.
