OBJECTIVE:
The Nursing Leadership Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering exceptional nursing care while providing guidance to the nursing staff. This position ensures that care standards are upheld, and that residents receive the highest quality of care at all times.
This role requires collaboration as a team member, leader, and supervisor to facilitate effective operations and celebrate team achievements.
In partnership with the Director of Nursing, the Coordinator will assist in the strategic planning, organization, development, and management of the Nursing Department, while effectively utilizing available resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Evaluate the needs of incoming residents and communicate pertinent information to the staff.
- Conduct daily visits to assess and monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Engage with medical personnel, nursing staff, residents, families, and visitors regarding resident health status.
- Ensure that all care provided to residents is conducted with dignity and respect.
- Educate nursing staff on residents' rights and responsibilities.
- Perform daily rounds to assess unit operations and address any concerns.
- Support clinical managers in ensuring accurate and comprehensive nursing documentation.
- Assist in emergency situations involving residents.
- Participate in the nursing on-call rotation as required.
- Address resident and family concerns promptly and effectively.
- Act as a Charge Nurse when necessary.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, ensuring their needs are consistently met.
Supervise and contribute to the development and implementation of various programs within the center.
Oversee and maintain accurate resident documentation and medical records.
Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards related to quality improvement, safety, and infection control.
Facilitate training and educational sessions to uphold licensure and enhance the quality of care provided by team members.
Lead by example to foster loyalty to the organization and its mission, inspiring staff to work collaboratively towards shared goals.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution or completion of an approved RN program.
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory nursing experience, preferably in long-term care.
- Current CPR certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, standards, and regulations pertaining to long-term care.
- Ability to make independent decisions as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, residents, families, and the public.
- Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and supervisory skills.
- Capability to plan, organize, and implement programs and policies that ensure quality care.
- Willingness to explore and integrate new methods into existing nursing practices.
