Position Overview:

The Philanthropy Engagement Coordinator will assist the Assistant Director of Philanthropy in nurturing and managing relationships with donors to foster long-term engagement and financial contributions to the organization. This role emphasizes donor engagement, communication, and data oversight to support the organization’s fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Engagement:
  • Help develop and execute personalized engagement strategies to boost donor retention and loyalty.
  • Coordinate donor recognition initiatives, including thank-you communications and special acknowledgments.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with donors, sharing updates on the impact of their contributions and the organization’s achievements.

Fundraising Assistance:
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Philanthropy to identify and research potential donors.
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives, events, and campaigns.
  • Assist in crafting donor proposals, reports, and presentations.

Data Management & Reporting:
  • Ensure accurate and current records of donor interactions, contributions, and pledges in the donor management system.
  • Generate reports on donor activity, retention, and giving patterns to guide strategic planning.
  • Track and report on the outcomes of engagement activities and their influence on donor relationships.

Communications:
  • Draft and refine donor communications, including newsletters and emails, to keep donors informed and engaged.
  • Ensure all communications align with the organization’s mission and messaging.
  • Work with the marketing team to create compelling content that showcases donor impact.

Event Coordination:
  • Assist in organizing donor events, including fundraising galas and appreciation gatherings.
  • Manage event logistics, including invitations and follow-up communications.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging experience for donors at events, reinforcing their connection to the organization.

Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Philanthropy and other development staff to support overall fundraising efforts.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas to enhance donor engagement strategies.
  • Support additional tasks and projects as needed to contribute to the organization’s fundraising success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with donors.
  • Familiarity with donor management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A passion for nonprofit work and commitment to the organization’s mission.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role within a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor engagement best practices.
  • Creative writing and content creation skills.
