The Behavioral Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position is integral to the Behavior Support Department at CRSI, focusing on the creation, oversight, and evaluation of tailored behavior programs.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards set forth by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
- Stay informed about advancements in behavior support methodologies and incorporate these into daily practices.
- Collaborate with direct care staff to ensure effective implementation and documentation of behavior programs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of behavior programs, identifying trends and making necessary adjustments.
- Provide comprehensive support to ensure the successful execution of behavior plans.
- Analyze behavioral patterns to formulate effective strategies and support systems.
- Engage with multidisciplinary professionals to discuss individual needs and program effectiveness.
- Gather and analyze monthly data on behavior plans, making informed recommendations for improvement.
- Present findings to the Behavior Support Committee and implement their recommendations promptly.
- Monitor performance metrics to drive continuous enhancement of behavior support services.
- Possession of a valid license from the Ohio board of psychology, counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist board, or a physician license from the state medical board of Ohio, or a relevant degree with significant experience in behavioral support.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong active listening abilities to extract essential information.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively, making sound decisions based on thorough analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
