CHRISTUS Health operates a comprehensive healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional medical services, including specialized care in various fields such as surgical services, intensive care, women's health, and more. The facility is equipped with advanced medical technology and a range of outpatient services to support community health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and provides direction to nursing units by conducting regular visits to assess operational status, interpreting policies for staff, patients, and visitors, coordinating patient placements, and addressing staffing challenges.
- Evaluates incoming patients to determine suitability for admission or transfer, ensuring they receive appropriate care.
- Acts as the hospital's administrative representative, addressing incidents and events, assisting in problem resolution, and promoting a positive image of the organization.
- Collaborates with the on-call administrator as necessary.
- Facilitates emergency operations as required.
- Performs clinical duties as needed to support patient care.
- Addresses complaints from patients, families, and physicians, following up with relevant management and patient advocacy as appropriate.
- Coordinates staffing for the upcoming shift, ensuring an effective mix of full-time, PRN, and agency personnel to meet unit requirements.
- Updates scheduling systems to reflect the latest staffing arrangements.
- Monitors and utilizes competency checklists for temporary staff assignments and agency personnel.
- Conducts performance reviews for PRN staff.
- Provides feedback to management regarding staff performance.
- Collaborates with other nursing supervisors and staffing teams to optimize the use of PRN resources.
A. Education and Skills
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program; a Bachelor's degree is preferred or actively pursuing completion within two years.
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant clinical experience in patient care.
B. Experience
At least 1-3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
C. Licenses and Certifications
Current RN License in the state of practice or compact state.
BLS certification required.
Work Schedule:
As needed, on a per diem basis.
