We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Commissioning Technician to join our team at North Carolina State University. As a key member of our Facilities Division, you will be responsible for commissioning and repairing HVAC systems, leading teams, and managing building automation systems campus-wide.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair advanced HVAC control systems
- Commission existing, renovated, and new building HVAC/mechanical systems
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption in campus facilities
- Maintain and repair the operation of DDC controls, heating, cooling, central chilled water/steam systems, steam/hot water boilers, and boiler auxiliary equipment
- Supervise the repair of building automation systems, integrated packaged mechanical systems, and associated controls across the campus
- Perform new systems start up and commissioning and interact with contractors and commissioning agents to verify systems are installed and operate as required
- Coordinate and establish building systems schedules and operating parameters
- Verify readings and measurements on building automation systems
- Measure air and water flow values and programming controls to ensure proper sequence of operation
- Associate's Degree in the assigned discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Valid NCDL required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Experience with building automation and HVAC systems in a facilities operations environment.
- Experience in a facilities operations environment developing competence to include commissioning complex HVAC systems, lab environmental control systems, and mechanical systems.
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $72,980, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
