Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Controls Specialist to join our team at ABM Industries. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing heating and air conditioning system controls, infrastructure panels, network controllers, and cabling with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair HVAC system controls, infrastructure panels, network controllers, and cabling.
  • Perform basic programming of controllers and monitor climate control systems.
  • Analyze performance, BAS point inventory control, sequencing of control management, and interior climate compliance to academic needs.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain system-level controller software and devices.
  • Work closely with key client's site Ops management and Energy Management personnel to sustain the BAS systems' integrity, maintain and repair graphic and logic issues, and provide daily monitoring of the operations of the BAS.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in HVAC or similar.
  • 4 years of experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and associated control devices.
  • Ability to apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in accomplishing a wide variety of diagnostics, repairs, replacement, and related projects as may be assigned.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics, calculations, blueprints, schematics, charts, and symbols appropriate to the trade.
  • Ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy, and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with peers and customers.

The position requires working in a variety of environments, including office, MEP equipment rooms, and outdoors with a wide range of temperatures ranging from winter to summer. Ambulatory skills, hand-eye coordination, and arm/hand/finger dexterity are required. Ability to speak, hear, and exercise visual acuity is also necessary. Ability to transfer weights of one hundred (50) pounds is anticipated for this position.
