Trident Trust is a prominent independent provider of corporate, trust, and fund services catering to the global financial services industry, with a workforce exceeding 1000 across various regions including Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East.

We are looking for a skilled accounting professional to join our dynamic Atlanta office as a Lead Accountant, Fund Operations. This position entails delivering comprehensive full-cycle accounting support to the fund accounting division, which services private equity, hedge, real estate, and venture capital funds along with their investors. The role may involve managing larger or more intricate accounts and will require collaboration with auditors as necessary. The Lead Accountant will report directly to the Fund Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Calculate periodic net asset values and performance returns for funds.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to fund managers.
  • Conduct period-end closings and fulfill special reporting requirements specific to each fund.
  • Issue capital statements to investors.
  • Review new investor subscription documents, conduct due diligence, and perform background checks to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Provide daily operational assistance for funds, including banking services, processing wire transfers, and setting up bank accounts.
  • Assist clients with inquiries regarding online portal access.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the senior manager of fund accounting.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly in relation to fund accounting.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in executing and reviewing complex calculations, including fund NAV calculations and investor allocations.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and coordinate with third-party service providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Familiarity with software such as Advent Geneva, QuickBooks, or Allvue is a plus, along with a willingness to learn new systems as required.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail, self-management skills, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
