Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our Inpatient Unit, you will play a vital role in assisting providers, leadership, and RNs in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various duties to support the treatment and care of patients under the supervision of licensed professionals.
  • Assist with daily activities, including monitoring patient behavior, documenting observations, and reporting any concerns or deviations from patient plans.
  • Participate in de-escalation and restraint programs as required.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Health or mental health care experience beneficial.
  • Certificate in mental health technology or related field (e.g., licensed nursing assistant) preferred.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association required within 1 month of hire.
  • Successful completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and observation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and think effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Ability to report patient care observations, deviations from patient plans, and other pertinent information under direct supervision.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $38,700 to $56,400, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
