Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Engineering Manager to join our team at TeamPeople. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of multiple traffic strands on the fibre and satellite network and ensuring the technical operational stability for the delivery of both news and programs incoming to the station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple traffic strands on the fibre and satellite network.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to satellite, fibre, and IP technology.
  • Collaborate with the facilities section to coordinate the flow of incoming news or programs.
  • Develop and implement MCR preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
  • Design and deploy MCR systems and updates, assessing changes and risk on operations.
  • Coordinated efforts with operators in the field to support remote operations via satellite, fibre, and IP networks.
  • Monitor and adjust incoming video streams according to broadcasting technical standards.
  • Provide level 1 and level 2 equipment support to crews in the field.
  • Work closely with the engineering department on project work.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to internal teams and external clients.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in electronics/telecommunication/broadcast engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a 24-hour news MCR environment or working in a media technical department. Strong knowledge of RF systems, digital compression systems, and major baseband broadcast equipment is required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and fluency in English are necessary.
