Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our team at OnPoint Medical Group. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between our medical staff, patients, and external healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Referral Management: Obtain and handle referrals for patients, insurance verifications, and OB payment plans.
  • Insurance Verification: Timely and accurate insurance verifications for patients of South Denver OBGYN.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate and schedule all incoming referrals.
  • Medical Record Management: Release of records for incoming and outgoing medical record requests, and maintain accurate documentation of medical record disclosure.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as an OBGYN representative to referring physician offices, insurance carriers, and patients, and communicate and collaborate with multiple departments as needed to ensure all referrals are facilitated.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience in a medical practice in insurance processing and follow-up.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of medical office procedures, managed care organizations, and insurance carriers' requirements of pre-notification of medical services, medical terminology, and computer and job-related software.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions.
