Position Overview
Rutgers University is in search of a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our esteemed Talent Acquisition department within University Human Resources. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our institution by identifying and securing exceptional talent.

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the recruiting team, you will:

  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to devise effective recruitment strategies for current and anticipated job openings.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, developing comprehensive sourcing plans tailored to attract top candidates.
  • Craft compelling messaging aimed at engaging high-caliber applicants.
  • Identify and address recruitment challenges, analyze root causes, and propose actionable solutions to enhance hiring practices.
  • Assess candidates' qualifications and experiences to ensure alignment with job requirements.
  • Build and nurture relationships with university career services and student organizations to proactively create talent pipelines.
  • Determine the most effective sourcing methods and implement strategies to attract diverse talent.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies regarding background checks and pre-employment screenings.
  • Negotiate job offers and prepare offer letters, overseeing the onboarding process.
  • Manage job postings through the Applicant Tracking System and maintain ongoing communication with hiring teams regarding recruitment progress.
  • Act as a liaison between management, staff, and applicants, providing guidance on employment policies and procedures.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years in human resource management.
  • Preferred experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, and onboarding, with knowledge of applicable employment laws.
  • Strong consultative skills and the ability to proactively resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
