Dining Service Support Specialist - Full-Time

The Forest at Duke is dedicated to creating a nurturing and responsible environment that promotes the independence of our senior residents, empowering them to lead meaningful, active, healthy, and secure lives. We aim to be the leading provider of services for older adults in the Durham area.

The Dining Service Support Specialist plays a crucial role in fulfilling our mission by providing an outstanding dining experience. This role reports directly to the Dining Manager or their designated representative.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) or healthcare environment is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with residents, families, guests, and team members.
  • Capacity to maintain a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Clarifies assigned tasks before commencing work.
  • Handles conflicts effectively without emotional escalation.
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Aims for minimal errors and omissions in work.
  • Offers assistance to colleagues when necessary.
  • Adheres to job requirements consistently.
  • Regularly attends work as scheduled and is punctual.
