Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing Foreman to join our team at the University of Louisville. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for supervising the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee assigned mechanical personnel and daily activities and operations to ensure assignments are completed safely, properly, and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with contractors, department contacts, and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Plan and lay out work from oral and written instructions, assign and supervise the work of plumbing personnel, and inspect the installation and repair of plumbing pipes, sinks, traps, valves, faucets, vents, pumps, and similar equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and on completion, and participate in complex plumbing tasks.
  • Implement routine and preventative maintenance programs to maximize customer service and efficient operations.
  • Estimate, obtain permits, and procure materials and equipment needed to complete work projects.
  • Prepare reports and written materials related to assigned activities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of formal trades apprenticeship.
  • Kentucky Journeyman Plumber License and eight years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability by the University's insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Kentucky Master Plumbing Contractor License.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a high-dust, high-grease environment with extensive safety training and protective devices. You will be required to work on slippery or uneven surfaces, in water, and in a variety of weather conditions.
