Job Title: Structural Engineer - Bridge Inspection Team Leader

STV is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to lead our Bridge Inspection Team in our Massachusetts office. As a key member of our Transportation Division, you will be responsible for overseeing bridge inspections, identifying maintenance and improvement needs, and developing strategies for repair and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead bridge inspection teams to identify structural and hazardous issues
  • Deliver comprehensive bridge inspection reports using client-specific templates and electronic data collection systems
  • Supervise and mentor inspection team members
  • Work with clients, consultants, and vendors to ensure project delivery
  • Prepare bridge load rating calculations and reports using analysis software
  • Review structural shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in bridge inspections
  • Massachusetts Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Experience with structural engineering design and/or bridge load ratings using analysis software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional FHWA/NHI training in Fracture Critical, Moveable Bridge, Tunnel, or Ancillary Structures
  • SPRAT Certified Rope Access Technician
  • Experience delivering reports in MassDOT Bridge Inspection Management Systems
