PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Deliver exceptional customer service within the Perishable Goods section.

Accountable for upholding standards in alignment with the operational manual, enhancing sales through outstanding customer interaction, and reducing waste through effective application of standard practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster an environment of enthusiastic customer engagement with a primary focus on swift, friendly, and precise service to ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Be courteous and supportive to fellow team members
  • Familiarize and utilize company resources such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)
  • Accept deliveries, code items as necessary, rotate stock, and store products appropriately
  • Ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and presentation of merchandise adhere to company policies and guidelines
  • Maintain adequate product levels across all areas within the Perishable section, including meat, deli, frozen foods, dairy, and ice cream
  • Process beef and ground meats as directed by the production schedule and as required
  • Wrap, label, weigh, and stock the meat display as requested
  • Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as needed
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize the department
  • Uphold variety and layout standards
  • Ensure that all promotional materials relevant to the department are effectively utilized
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of and compliance with company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
  • Understand and adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety protocols
  • Identify and rectify any unsafe conditions that could lead to accidents for associates or customers
  • Report all incidents involving associates and customers according to established procedures
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Wear the company uniform with apron and name badge while on duty, maintaining a neat and professional appearance
  • Successfully complete required training programs and courses
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service abilities
  • Willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role
  • Capability to utilize technical information to address challenges
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to operate computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Push or pull up to 75 lbs. on occasion
  • Stand for extended periods, frequently walking short distances
  • Handle various substances related to cleaning and packaging
  • Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally above shoulder or below waist level
  • Meet established performance standards for the position
  • Tolerate working in extreme temperatures for short durations
