Maintenance Supervisor

**Job Summary**

Waste Connections is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance department.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Ensure adherence to our corporate safety program and foster a culture of safety within the team.
• Collaborate with personnel to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
• Develop and implement training programs for mechanics and preventative maintenance mechanics.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and statutes.
• Oversee the completion of repair orders and manage inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Train and assist mechanics in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
• Schedule and assign work to mechanics, PM mechanics, and other maintenance shop personnel.
• Coordinate and transport vehicles to outside service for repairs as needed.
• Test vehicles to troubleshoot problems and ensure proper completion of repairs.
• Make emergency road calls to repair trucks.
• Communicate regularly with the Division Maintenance Manager.
• Assist in monthly financial projections and annual budgeting.
• Ensure departmental costs are maintained within budget.

**Requirements:**

• 5+ years of experience in mechanic maintenance and repair, preferably in the waste industry.
• Ability to train and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Trade or technical school certificate preferred.
• High school or equivalent required.
• Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date.
• Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
