Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Assistant I

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Assistant I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I, you will play a critical role in assisting technical lab staff and performing various laboratory tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Technical Lab Staff: Provide support to technical lab staff in the collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens, preparation of samples for analytical testing, and performance of waived and/or limited moderate complexity testing.
  • Process and Prepare Patient Samples: Collect, process, and prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
  • Perform Testing and Quality Control: Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision, while meeting performance standards and knowledge level determined for the approved testing. Participate in quality control for testing as directed by technical staff.
  • Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Perform maintenance activities on laboratory equipment as directed.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate courteously, professionally, effectively, and accurately with internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous clinical laboratory experience or successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
  • Certifications: Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent reading, writing, and math abilities. Basic computer skills. Ability to perform detailed work, work with frequent interruptions, multi-task, problem solve, and memorization.
