Lanessa Extended Care is seeking an experienced MDS Coordinator to enhance our dedicated care team.

Work Schedule: The role offers flexible shifts, either from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM, with competitive weekly compensation of $38/hour for LPNs and $45/hour for RNs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the MDS process effectively.
  • Supervise activities of daily living (ADL) training for staff and facility.
  • Timely issuance and delivery of denial notices.
  • Complete and submit all CMS-approved item sets (MDS).
  • Ensure compliance with current CMS regulatory guidelines as outlined in the RAI Manual.
  • Adhere to facility privacy policies and safeguard residents' health information.
  • Maintain meeting minutes for Medicare program agreements.
  • Issue Medicare denial letters in accordance with CMS regulations.
  • Oversee the management of residents' Medicare and insurance benefits.
  • Ensure adequate documentation supports billed services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Nursing Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Possess a current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state.
  • Prior experience with MDS is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with residents, families, and staff.
  • Capable of coordinating MDS systems and resident assessments efficiently.
  • Knowledgeable in nursing practices, regulations, and long-term care guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Possess patience, tact, and a positive attitude when dealing with residents.
  • Willingness to explore and implement new nursing methods and principles.
  • Effective communication skills for emergency situations.
  • Accurate assessment skills to uphold nursing standards.
