Overview

McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join its Clinical Compliance department at its headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid role that will require some days onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incident Reporting and Management
    • Perform routine tasks related to incident reporting and management.
  • Clinical Compliance Monitoring
    • Conduct ongoing clinical compliance monitoring activities which may include review of records and collection of patient input.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Distribute evidence of monitoring activities to key stakeholders within the organization, requesting and maintaining documentation of follow-up as needed.
  • Internal Meetings and Policy Development
    • Attend and participate in internal review meetings and meetings related to clinical compliance.
    • Assist Compliance department in development and periodic review of internal policy and procedure to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other healthcare and behavioral health related governance.
  • Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance
    • Maintain working knowledge of regulations, accreditation standards, and service definition requirements related to services provided by the organization.
  • Hazard Communication Program
    • Coordinate activities related to the hazard communication program to support organizational compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Support to Compliance Leadership
    • Provide back-up support to Manager of Compliance and Director of Compliance.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Bodies
    • Act as liaison with representatives of regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • We are looking for a minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent and 5+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience in administrative support required.
    • Associate's degree or higher and 3+ years of related experience preferred.
    • Experience in a non-profit or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Certifications
    • There are no certifications necessary, but a certification with Compliance or Quality Assurance is a plus.
