About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Teacher to join our team at DC Scholars Public Charter School. As an Associate Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom culture, assisting with whole group instruction, and facilitating small group learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Culture: Foster a productive and engaging classroom environment, establish strong classroom routines, and facilitate arrival, dismissal, and hallway transitions.
  • Co-Delivering Instruction: Collaborate with the General Education Teacher to facilitate whole group instruction and prepare data-driven small group plans.
  • Family Collaboration: Actively engage with families, monitor student attendance, and share academic and behavioral updates.
  • School Community: Demonstrate a commitment to growth, complete tasks by deadlines, and meet professional expectations for dress, time, and attendance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1-2 years professional experience
  • Experience working with students in disadvantaged communities preferred
